Hope Community Church is up and running!

Welcome to Hope Community Church.  We began meeting publicly in September 2007 as a 'church plant' from Rock Baptist Church in Cambridge.  The reason for starting a new church in this area is fairly simple.  We want as many people in the area to hear of the good news about Jesus Christ and do so in language they can understand.  If you're just beginning to think about these things for the first time then why not come along and see us - everyone finds a warm welcome and if you'd prefer to come to the meal after our Sunday meeting you're very welcome to start that way. For other questions about the Christian faith then the Just Looking section of this site will help.  If you'd like to get in touch with us to find out more then you might like to email us.

Sunday Meetings

We meet on Sundays at 5pm and alternate between Cherry Hinton Community Junior School (Fulbourn Old Drift) and Teversham Chapel (High St, Teversham).  The meeting lasts for just over an hour and includes worship songs, prayer and a Bible talk in contemporary language (with an opportunity to discuss and ask questions).  From about 6.15pm we eat together which is a great way of getting to know each other.

Guest Events

Anyone is welcome to come to any of our Sunday meetings and we try to explain things clearly in language people understand and actively welcome questions during the meeting and afterwards. We also run regular 'Guest Events' where we do things very differently and the whole evening is focussed on one big question or issue. Often we look at video clips from recent TV programmes or films and think about how the good news about Jesus connects with the questions or issues raised.

Our next Guest events are:

1st November - an evening with Jamie Kidd - an ex-paratrooper tells his story - at Teversham Primary School - Jamie starts speaking around 8pm

2nd November - 'Questions people are asking - Is there really life after death?' - at 75 High Street, Teversham - 5pm, food afterwards

Recently we've been asking people 'If you could ask God one question and you knew it would be answered, what would you ask?' We're going to be exploring the most frequently asked questions this term.

Classic Cafe

We have a Cafe for over 60s in Teversham Chapel every other Friday from 2.30pm to 4pm.  There's tea, coffee, cake and chat plus a thought for the day and games or crafts to join in.  All welcome... For a downloadable flyer click here
