Matthew Evans (Pastor)

Matthew spent seven years on the leadership team at Cornerstone Church, Nottingham (a large, lively and rapidly growing congregation) before coming to RBC in September 2000.

 

He is praying for similar growth in Cambridge as the church reaches out to the city with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

 

Born in Manchester in 1959, he spent his boyhood in Cardiff and then his teenage years in Llandrindod Wells in beautiful Mid Wales. It was there he became a Christian at the age of 15 after starting to attend Tabernacle Baptist Church and becoming convinced of the truth of the gospel.

 

He read Economics at university in Cardiff and later studied theology with the Evangelical Movement of Wales, for whom he also worked, firstly as a bookshop manager (nine years) and then later as their headquarters Office Administrator (three years).

 

In 1984 he married Alison who is an Infant School teacher. They have two children: Peter and Bethan. His interests include all sports, bird watching, politics, history, reading and holidays in Wales!

 

Mike Partridge (Pastor)

Mike joined the full-time staff at Rock in September 2010.  He played basketball for Leicester City Riders in his younger days, playing for England in the U21 squad before starting university.  He taught Social Sciences in Melton Mowbray, before becoming Midlands Team Leader for UCCF - an evangelical Christian fellowship supporting the work of student Christian Unions.  He became full-time Elder at Woodlands Evangelical Church (Oakwood Congregational) in Derby for 3 years, and then began theologcial studies at Wales Evangelical School of Theology in 2007.

 

He is married to Dawn.  They have two sons: Joel and Noah.  He enjoys all sports, walking by the coast in South Wales, reading crime novels and spending time with his family.
